X-PIL - Patient Information Leaflets for blind or visually impaired people

People can view and print Patient Information Leaflets (PILs) in large font and listen to them using screen reader software. Through a partnership between Datapharm and the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB), people can get PILs in hardcopy large print, Braille or on audio CD-ROM. They can also listen to them over the telephone.

Working with the Prescription Pricing Division (now NHS Prescription Services) of NHS Business Services Authority Datapharm created the eMC dm+d browser. The eMC dm+d browser provides users with access to the NHS' drugs database, the Dictionary of Medicines and Devices (dm+d). The information is managed by the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) Prescription Services and is updated weekly.
